Too much to do and no time?

How many of us struggle with too much to do and not enough time? I think it’s a common problem for many of us.
Once, I asked  my friend,  “Can you please help me with my move this Saturday.” He said, “I'm sorry,  I want to, but I have so much to do and I don’t have time to help.” That conversation was ten years ago. Recently, I asked him again for a help.I got the same answer: “ I am sorry..”
I realized he is not the only one. I heard such time crunch problem from many other friends. I also realized that I also have many things that I want to do and I don’t have enough time.
Why we have this problem:
When I was a student, I had a plenty of time. After job and marriage, there were many new tasks added to my daily routine. Many of us have many roles to play in the life: at home, at work, and at the society. Many times it becomes a challenge to complete all tasks that I desire to complete in the day.
How to solve this problem:
What to do? How to solve it? There are several articles and books on time management. Many great learned scholars innovated different theories to deal with time management. I spent a lot of time in time management books until it became a waste of time. I tried multiple methods to manage my time. After a long struggle, I realized that it’s not possible to do all the things desired to complete, no matter how much time management I try. We will not get more than twenty hours in a day, even when we think we need forty-eight hours.
The solution for me and many of us is a fourteen-letter magical word: prioritization. I believe, in today’s age, we all need to prioritize what to do and what NOT to do. In the morning and at the start of the week, I begin prioritizing my tasks. I learned to follow below steps:
  1. List out all tasks that to be done.
  2. A checklist to prioritize tasks among the list of tasks. Make a decision what to do and what NOT to do.
  3. Once the decision is made, stick to it.
Conclusion:
We all have one life, with fixed twenty-four hours in a day and we all have many things to do.  If you are like me who struggles with limited time and many things to do, I encourage you to refer to the prioritization process that works for you. It’s all about what you really want to do and what you don't want to do and are okay with it.
Stephen Covey has said: The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule but to schedule your priorities.
